Dr. Charles Shidlofsky is a practicing Neuro-Optometrist in the Dallas area. He attended the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate work and then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where he graduated with a Doctor of Optometry in 1988. He has worked in varied settings: a private practice, in an Ophthalmology practice; as director of a laser vision center and then ultimately back into a private practice to concentrate on his Neuro-Optometry specialty.
Additionally, he is an adjunct instructor of Optometry for Southern College of Optometry and Clinical director of the Special Olympics Opening Eyes Program. Dr. Shidlofsky is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association.
Dr. Shidlofsky is a frequent lecturer in the areas of learning related vision problems, laser vision correction, sports vision, visual treatment of acquired and traumatic brain injury and contact lenses. He is published in several professional journals.
Dr. Shidlofsky currently
lives in Plano, Texas with his wife
of 21 years Sherri and his three children;
Alyssa, 18, Kara 16 and Ian 13.
