Susan Sordoni, M.D., received her M.D. in 1997 from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She completed her Residency at MCP's Hahnemann Family Practice Residency Program at Warminster Hospital, where she received the Residency Teaching Award. Dr. Sordoni served as a volunteer physician with Community Volunteers in Medicine, a non-profit, community-based volunteer corporation serving the needs of the uninsured working poor in Chester County, Pennsylvania. She currently is a Family Practice physician with an office in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Dr. Sordoni is very active in projects that benefit the local community, most notably as director of the philanthropic Sordoni Foundation. She chairs and directs a variety of community service organizations and boards, and was awarded the Volunteer Appreciation Award from Barbara Bush for her public service. Dr. Sordoni established the Circle of Friends program at College Misericordia in Dallas, PA. This program transitions mentally-challenged women from high school to the work place by providing appropriately-designed college level experiences. Dr. Sordoni's latest community service project is about to become a reality - the establishment of a free medical clinic in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This clinic will utilize volunteer physicians to provide free health care services to working families who do not have, or cannot afford, health insurance.
